The company was created in 1927 and is the result of the request, in 1920, of the local priest who, having no more bell-ringers, wished to ensure automatic bell-ringing for his church. Emile MAMIAS, already a talented inventor of other innovations, took up the challenge and so began a vocation which is ours today : he created an electromechanical swinging motor, the patent of which has been reproduced all over the world.
Among other achievements of the first years, he succeeded in installing the first automatic bell-ringing in Notre-Dame in Paris and of the " Savoyarde ", 19-ton tenor bell in the Sacré-Coeur in Paris.
The reputation of Mamias was such that the firm equiped a great proportion of the most important sites of France, as well as numerous prestigious buildings in more than 40 countries.
